I’ve been wanting to write this review for some time now. I seriously enjoy the entire menu at this place and now frequent it more than I probably should. Rawlicious is a chain of restaurants found in southern Ontario from Barrie to Whitby.
The Whitby location has a quaint local charm with exposed brick walls, open concept and refurbished hardwood floors. The atmosphere is so calming, quiet and almost soothing. There are enough tables for a lively dinner crowd and yet it never gets overwhelmingly loud and noisy. The Staff are fantastic, very passionate about the food they serve which I love. Nothing makes your dining experience better (beside the food itself) when the staff rave about and believe in the quality and ingredients of everything on the menu. When you first get there and take a look at the menu you’ll want to try everything!
This restaurant features all raw foods – from vegetable samosas made from zucchini and flax, taco collard wraps, raw pad thai with kelp and zucchini noodles and even a house salad with shredded beets, pumpkin seeds and sprouts. The dessert menu is a must try! Think – cheese cake, key lime and banana cream pie and even brownies all raw, gluten, dairy and egg free. It’s a serious foodie pleasing menu and I am over the moon this place exists as there is still a lack of raw, vegan options outside of the Toronto area.
A side note – If you have or know someone who has nut allergies I may avoid visiting the restaurant as a lot of the menu items incorporate nuts. It’s a great restaurant however to take someone adventurous who may have never tried an all raw meal before or if you love raw food then this is for sure the place for you!
