Ginger Lemon Tea

I’m sure this is not a new concept for most of you out there, but for some who may be new to the world of plant foods and forreging your own ingredients, this is a wildly new recipe that will load your body up with goodness and detox you right out! My husband absolutely loves this tea when he’s fighting a cold as it gives him the boost he needs to fight it off quickly.

Ginger is amazing. To be honest, there are a lot of amazing foods out there and I’ve really expanded my love for fresh organic plant foods, so you will hear me say lots of foods are amazing on this blog. But, really and truely, Ginger is amazing. For myself, I worry about imflammation as it can lead to flare ups with my illness, but Ginger is an amazing natural anti-inflammatory. It is one of the most potent anti-inflammatory foods out there, and unlike the pharmasuticals, there are no side effects. Amazing! Lemon is also incredible. Although it is an acidic fruit it has an alkalizing effect in our bodies and a strong power to detox us.

I really enjoy this tea in the mornings or after lunch to help cleanse my system. It’s deliciously soothing and rich in flavour. All you have to do it try it once and you’ll be hooked!

Ingredients:
1 Cup Water
1 Chunk of Ginger
1/4 Lemon

Optional:
Raw unpasturized Honey

Method:
Add your water to a kettle (or pot) and bring to a boil. Peel the ginger and either juice it or leave it whole. Pour hot water in a mug and add your ginger and juice from the lemon. Allow to steep for 2-3 minutes and drink when it’s at your optimal temperature. If you like it sweet add the honey last, give it a good stir and enjoy.

xx HBL
