Beauty Review: Herbivore Botanicals

That’s honestly all I want to write for this post.

Ok, but for real, I’ll give you guys a review because I really want you to love this company as much as I do! I was absolutely never interested in facial oils as I thought they would just make my skin look extra oily and even cause it to break out. Guess what?! Not true!! Facial oil actually protects and moisturizes your skin in ways that a cream can’t. Our bodies are actually designed to absorb oils, it’s when we can’t that we have an issue.

Have you ever thought to yourself ‘I don’t want to use an oil cream, lotion or plain old oil on my skin because it doesn’t absorb, it just sits there making everything else I touch oily’? That’s because your skin is so dehydrated that it doesn’t know how to properly absorb the oil.

Don’t get discouraged though! This facial oil will gently work its way into your skin and it’s so mild and gentle you’ll have you skin soaking it up within a few minutes of applying it! What I’ve found amazing is the dewy, moist and glowy skin I have once I use this facial oil. Not to toot my own horn or anything!

That’s not all Herbivore Botanicals offers either, they’ve got some amazing body scrub, bath soaks and salts, hair care products and facial mists and toners. I was fortunate enough to be sent their facial mist and facial oil to try and I’m obsessed with both!

Here’s a few reasons why I love Herbivore Botanicals:

  • They use 100% natural, non-toxic ingredients
  • There’s absolutely no artificial ingredients, fillers, parabens, alcohol, animal ingredients, fragrances, sulfates, artificial colors, or unnatural preservatives
  • Each ingredient is included for a therapeutic reason
  • No animal testing is conducted on their products or ingredients
  • Their packing is so minimalistic and beautiful!

Now that we’ve covered why I love Herbivore Botanicals so much, let’s take a look at the products in more detail!

Hydrate Facial Mist

This mist is really hydrating and seriously helps relax the redness in my skin after washing and exfoliating it. It smells like a bouquet of flowers which is absolutely beautiful. I also love how moist and dewy it makes my skin feel. Since its a water based mist/toner my skin just eats it up. I always spray it after washing my face and even on occasions where I just need a rejuvenated look throughout the day!

Ingredients: Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Distillate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water (Aloe Water), Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Oil, Pelargonium Roseum Asperum (Geranium) Oil, Lactobacillus Ferment

Herbivore Botanical Notes: This 100% Natural Facial Toning Elixir is created to restore pH balance for sensitive to normal skin types after cleansing. Additionally, it removes any impurities remaining after cleansing, reduces pores, and prepares your face for better moisture absorption. Best suited for dry, sensitive, and normal skin types. The scents of rose geranium and ylang ylang leave your skin feeling and smelling fresh!

***The facial mist is currently on SALE! so hurry up and get yours!

Orchid Facial Oil

As I said: Obsessed. This has to be the prettiest smelling facial oil I have tried. Ever. And I’ve tried so many facial oils (Nilly & Booth, Earthwise Organics, Odecite, Element Botanicals to name a few) and I’m not saying the other brands I’ve tried were bad! Actually I’ve got reviews coming out soon with all of those brands because I love them too. But, if I’m basing my decision on smell alone – Herbivore wins. It’s so delicate with subtle floral notes, what I imagine a greecian goddess would wear. And it works! I already told you how moisturizing it is, how dewy it makes my skin feel and the glow I get after its all be absorbed. It’s a fantastic oil!

Ingredients: Orchid Extract, Camellia Oil, Squalane, Colorless Jojoba Oil, Jasmine Sambac, Capric Triglycerides

Herbivore Botanical Notes: Lush, exotic floral oils give skin a bright new glow while gently preserving its youth and replenishing hydration. An exquisite blend of Orchid extract, precious Jasmine Sambac, and Japanese Camellia Flower Oil combine to defend against free radicals, increase elasticity, and feed the skin with beneficial vitamins and fatty acids such as Omega 3 and 6 to protect against premature aging.

Simply based on these 2 products alone, I’ve put Herbivore Botanicals on my list of need-to-repurchase items as well as need-to-try-more items! Check out why they chose to be a 100% natural, toxin-free beauty company and why not shop their amazing products while you’re at it 😉

Have you tried Herbivore Botanicals? Or a facial oil? What were your thoughts?

    Hi Kate,

That’s a nice post! Herbivore botanicals is such a very beautiful brand! the products is so effective and the square bottle very charming! For the oil, maybe the bottle can be a little small in my opinion, because i don’t like to waste and i had never finish a bottle of oil like that. The only oil bottle i finished yet is MUN (15ml) 🙂 xx

Thanks Julie! I agree, the bottle is a bit big but for the price I see now that it’s quite a bargain considering how long it has lasted me and it still looks new! Have a wonderful day. xx
