DIY Beauty: Facial Toner

Morning Beauties,

I wanted to take today to share one of my fave DIY beauty recipes (that is super simple and easy-peasy) and it’s such a great way to help your skin glow and look better! I’ve been using this for quite sometime and some of my friends and family have even adopted it into their beauty regime with great benefits and results.

Apple Cider Vinegar!

That’s right, your household kitchen staple item just found another use. Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV is amazing for the skin, by using ACV as a toner you’re providing your skin with proper ph levels which will reduce redness and pores making your skin appear youthful, tighter and clear. It helps to clean out toxins and dirt your skin can accumulate throughout the day allowing your pores to breath. It’s truly amazing!

You may not realize this but even if you leave the house with a freshly washed face, no make-up or cosmetics applied, your skin is still absorbing all the toxins from the air including pollution, carbon monoxide, dirts and more. At the end of the day your skin will thank you for giving it that extra bit of love by washing away all those toxins and bacteria, and toning it with ACV creating a clean slate. The quality of ACV is important however as it will determine if there actually are anti-bacterial and pH balancing properties! Make sure you use unrefined, unpasteurized, organic (if possible) Apple Cider Vinegar, this kind is the most natural and will give you the best results! You can check out Bragg’s or Edens Organics for good quality bottles.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
  • Water (to mix with)
  • Facecloth
  • Access to running water (preferably warm)
  • Air-tight reseal-able Jar
  1. To make your toner mix 1 part ACV to 3-4 parts water in your reseal-able jar.
  2. After washing your face, grab your face cloth and dip an end into your new toner
  3. Apply the wet end of the face-cloth onto your face and gently pat all over your face (do not get into eyes!)
  4. Seal your jar, wash the face cloth off with some warm water
  5. Apply moisturizer or facial oil

That’s it! There’s hardly any steps at all, it’s honestly so so easy! You will also notice an incredible difference in the glow and moisture of your skin after only a few days.

xx HBL
