Beauty Review: Graydon Clinical Luxury – The Green Line

Graydon Clinical Luxury is an amazing green and natural beauty line based out of Toronto, Canada. The founder, Graydon, has worked hard to provide safer and more natural beauty products in the Canadian market and I just love all of her stuff!

I’ve actually had the pleasure of sampling a lot of the Graydon line (which I’ll share more of in other posts) but today I wanted to focus on the ‘Green’ Line. There are 2 products in this line up that are literally green in colour and green in the natural sense. I’ve become obsessed with both of these products and even reordered them both!

So, before we get to review, I’ll share a few reasons why I love the Graydon Clinical Luxury brand so much:

  • It is a Canadian brand, based out of my hometown of Toronto.
  • Graydon, the founder, is extremely passionate about all things health, wellness and natural!
  • All of the products have bioactive plant-based ingredients, which means they will get absorbed and have a wonderfully positive effect on the skin and hair.
  • There are absolutely no mineral oils, chemicals, parabens, sulfates, artificial dyes or synthetic aromas.
  • Though nuts have excellent nourishing qualities, they choose not to use nut derived ingredients due to the prevalence of nut related allergies. (however they do not formally claim this on the labels as they do not (currently) use a certified nut free laboratory to produce their products).
  • Where ever possible they strive to include Canadian organic ingredients and fair-trade ingredients from around the world.

Ok, so now you can see clearly why I love this brand so much! It hits so many things on my list – plant-based, Canadian-made, organic, natural. Their philosophy and theme surrounding their products fits perfectly with the Her Balanced Life motto and purpose. This brand has truly become one of my all-time faves with so so many amazing and incredible products! So! Let’s take a look at the first two:

Green Cream
This cream is fantastic! Graydon suggests using it as a hand cream after gardening or a long day of labourous work so soften and nourish the skin. Since I very much got into gardening this year growing copious amounts of kale, peppers, collard greens, celery and so much more I found this cream really handy! It really refreshed the skin on my hands and helped keep them soft and moisturized. It’s actually made with a lot of green vegetables and herbs so it smells like a fresh salad. That’s there kind of trademark slogan for this cream too: Salad for your skin. And it’s too fitting.

Ingredients: purified water (aqua), aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) juice, vegetable wax: (caprylic/capric triglyceride, glyceryl stearate, coco-caprylate/caprate, dicaprylyl ether, sodium olivoyl glutamate, cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol), vegetable glycerine, citric acid, broccoli (brassica oleracea italica) seed oil, avocado (persea americana) oil, jojoba (simmondsia chinensis) oil, olive (olea europea) oil, chlorophyll (chlorophyllin), xanthan gum, vegetable derived preservative: (glyceryl caprylate, glyceryl undecylenate) in a blend of pure essential oils including parsley (carum petroselinum), sage (salvia sclarea), rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis), thyme (thymus vulgaris), lemon (citrus medica limonum) and nothing else!

Graydon’s Notes: Infused with broccoli, avocado, coconut, olive, aloe and fresh herbs this light cream is like a salad for your skin. Phytonutrients in the Green Cream include chlorophyll which helps with detoxification and contributes to its pale green hue. Sulforaphane found in broccoli seed oil delivers powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory protection to help fight free radical damage. The addition of our signature essential oil blend of fresh smelling parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme will soothe your skin and help stimulate your lymphatic system. Suitable for a wide range of complexions, this multi tasking cream is wonderful to use on all the areas of your face and body.

Hair Smoothie
If you want soft, luxurious, healthy and nutrient rich hair.. you MUST try this hair smoothie! I’ve been loving it as an ultimate hydrator for my dry ends and as we head into a colder and drier season, it will only be more beneficial to use on a regular basis to hydrate your hair and keep it looking and feeling soft. This one smells like a delicious mixture of herbs, not too strong or off putting, it’s just right so you know you’re putting natural, real goodness on your precious hair.

Ingredients: purified water (aqua), distearoylethyl dimonium chloride (and) cetearyl alcohol, coco-caprylate, hydrolyzed jojoba esters (and) jojoba esters, lauryl glucoside (and) polyglyceryl-2 dipolyhydroxystearate (and) glycerin, coconut (cocos nucifera) oil, sunflower (helianthus annuus) seed oil, olive (olea europaea) fruit oil, broccoli (brassica oleracea italica) seed oil, green tea (camellia sinensis leaf) extract, vitamin e (tocopherol) oil, glyceryl caprylate (and) glyceryl undecylenate, citric acid, chlorophyll, in a blend of pure essential oils including parsley (carum petroselinum), sage (salvia sclarea), rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis), thyme (thymus vulgaris), lemon (citrus medica limonum) and nothing else!

Graydon’s Notes: Bursting with nutrient rich ingredients that are safe for the whole family, a little pump of our Hair Smoothie will quickly condition and detangle the finest of hair and most sensitive of scalps. Nourish your lovely locks with phyto-nutrient ingredients including broccoli seed oil while you infuse your scalp with essential oils of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme that stimulate healthy hair growth. With a unique fresh scent of fine herbs we’ve been able to create a formula that will leave your hair super soft and smooth but not weighed down. Great for all hair types!

There you have it. Over-and-above reasons for you to love this brand as much as I do. I can’t recommend trying out their products enough. Check them out, I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

Have any of your tried Graydon’s products? What are some of your faves? Do you know of any other local, Canadian brands you’d like to see featured on here? I want to know!
