I have to say.. this was one of my very very exciting events I couldn’t wait to share with all of you! I blog a lot about health and wellness so I know a shopping post is a bit off-beat for me but I really feel little things, including shopping and fashion can add to a healthy life if you make it a happy, positive experience!
I was absolutely ecstatic when the Oshawa Centre invited me to visit their newly renovated Mall as there are so many great stores to shop at! For any of you that live in the Durham Region, you probably already know about the OC, but for those of you in different areas, this is the biggest Mall around before heading into Toronto and they’ve recently under took a huge renovation, adding over 60 more stores, expanding the malls physical size by 250,000 square feet, improving the food options with more restaurants and food court seating and simply making it a much bigger, better place to shop!
My wonderful friends, husband and I took the Black Friday to shop till we dropped and I’m really excited to share with you our experience plus some of the great finds we thought you would all love (annnnnnnnd… wait for it.. a GIVEAWAY for a shopping spree of your own! so stay tuned 😉
We arrived by car and totally forgot to utilize the amazing valet service option (available until Dec 24th) but I absolutely love the idea! I’ve never, actually never, used valet service before but I think it is such an amazing experience to go straight from your car to the Mall & leave your heavy parka in the car. For those dreary winter days to come, the parking garage is also a nice option to not have to walk to your car in the cold and spend 10 minutes wiping the snow and frost off!
Valet service is located near the Chapters & H&M entrance & the parking garage is located on the same side as the Bay & LCBO.
Some of the newer stores opened are:
- Victoria’s Secret & Pink
- Saje Wellness
Some of the recently renovated ones are:
- Old Navy
Some of the Health & Wellness Related Stores & Brands:
- Sephora – My favourite clean beauty brand Herbivore Botanicals is now available at Sephora! Of course, right now it’s online only but it’s a big step in the clean beauty world!
- Boathouse – Ten Tree apparel can be found here, an eco-conscious clothing line that plants 10 trees with every clothing purchase (plus, they’re a Canadian brand!)
- Teavana – They have a huge selection of herbal and wellness teas as well as tea accessories!
- Lululemon – Of course one of my favourite brands, they sell eco-conscious fitness gear as well as yoga/stretching mats
- Saje Wellness – wellness and beauty shop with natural essential oils
Of course there’s so many more stores and even more to come, but by-far an excellent selection and renovation so far!
So where did I shop? Considering I was eagerly anticipating the opening of Aritzia as soon as there was buzz of it coming to Oshawa, I ran my little boots over there to see their seasonal offerings and Black Friday deals. Beautiful thick blanket scarves, cable knit and heavy sweaters, the infamous parka and gorgeous wool hats were only some of the items I was dying to get my hands on. Of course, since my other favorite store was situated right beside, I had to check out what Lululemon was offering and the evening continued on with dashes and darts to all the amazing stores and window displays until I wiped out my gift card limit. Oh what a day.
Here’s a few items I think are great for this season:
