The 5 Plant-Based Cookbooks I Can’t Live Without

Cookbooks seem to be a dime a dozen these days, with all kinds of plant-based and healthy eating cookbooks coming out in what seems to be a daily basis. So how do you choose the best ones? I’ve got 5 of my faves right here to help you kick start you into a more plant-friendly lifestyle! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not vegan or 100% plant-based, but I truly see the benefits of incorporating more plant foods into your diet and these books help make it both easy and fun!

Deliciously Ella Everyday
I pre-ordered this cookbook once I found out Ella Woodward from Deliciously Ella was working on it and am so happy I did! Her 1st cookbook Deliciously Ella: 100+ Easy, Healthy and Plant-Based was the best best book ever for me when I started my elimination diet and temporary vegan journey but I found some of the recipes a bit more complicated and time consuming so her new book is really great with some meals and snacks taking only 10 minutes to prepare!



The Oh She Glows Cookbook: Vegan Recipes to Glow From The Inside Out
I not only love this cookbook from the Canadian Vegan Blogger, Angela Liddon because she’s a fellow Ontarian promoting a healthy plant based lifestyle but also because the recipes are amazing! There are a few that are quick and easy, others that require some more prep time but all the recipes in this book are a great help in eating a healthy plant-based diet.


Joyous Health: Eat and Live Well Without Dieting
I met Joy McCarthy at an event that one of my girlfriends host at her Library branch in Scarborough which focused on healthy eating. Joy shared some great points and a few recipes that won me over in buying her cookbook. Along with really healthy, mostly plant-based recipes she also shares her wealth of knowledge as a Holistic Nutritionist which is almost invaluable!


YumUniverse: Infinite Possibilities for a Gluten-Free, Plant-Powerful, Whole-Food Lifestyle
My goodness this book is packed full of nutritional advice, tips and tricks it’s worth it just for that alone but you’ll also get plant-based recipes & tips like growing your own sprouts. This is such a great resource book for plant-based eater and plant-curious individuals.


Bunners Bake Shop Cookbook
So this may not be the ‘healthiest’ cookbook of them all but it’s a cookbook chalked full of delicious gluten-free & vegan baked goods recipes, some of which are staple items sold in their Toronto bakeries! Can’t make it there to try their famous cinnamon bun? get the cookbook and try it for yourself 😉
