I absolutely love the summer! I think it’s because that’s when Ontario really flourishes with fresh local produce and you can get super creative in the kitchen with tasty recipes. Of course that also means you can bring said recipes with you and enjoy a wonderful picnic with your favourite peeps!
I will admit it’s been a while since I went on a real picnic. I mean a real picnic. Basket, Blanket, Homemade goodies and all! Probably not since I was a child.. and I really don’t know why, they’re so much fun! It’s an awesome way to enjoy time outdoors, eat some of your fave foods and just soak in the sunshine.
Of course, you all know healthy eating is ‘my thing’ and I love sharing new foodie finds and recipes with you all to help promote a healthy lifestyle that focuses on wellness.
This is why picnics can be so fun!

This is exactly why I agreed to partner with Ozery bakery on a picnic theme’d adventure so I could share these delicious recipes with you guys!
Since dropping labels in my diet I’ve felt so much more free to make my own food choices without worrying whether I’m ‘doing the right thing’ or that someone is watching my every move or even that I’d slip up and deal with incredible guilt for days!
For me, that just didn’t add to the wellness lifestyle I wanted.. so, I went label free.
It’s given me the chance to work with ingredients, brands and products that still follow my moto without being too restrictive.
Ozery Bakery offers some delicious products that make life a little easier and are a great healthy option to enjoy! Everything is made without yucky preservatives – something I really hate – and some of their products even include flax which has become a good friend of mine during pregnancy (think healthy digestive system and regular… you know… TMI?).
I hand selected my favourite products – Apple Cinnamon Bites, Lavish Crackers (which I buy allllllll the time!) and Flax Sandwich Buns (which also make really good burger buns!) and put together some great recipes to enjoy that can easily be stored and carried along on a picnic adventure.

Strawberry Mango Salsa + Lavish Crackers
2/3 Cup Fresh Strawberries, Sliced + Diced
1 Ripe Mango, Sliced + Diced
Handful of Mint
Pinch of Cinnamon
Method: Add your strawberries & mango to a bowl. Chop your mint leaves and add to bowl. Juice your lime and pour over berries, mango and mint. Stir in the cinnamon and mix together!
Salted Caramel Dip + Apple Cinnamon Bites
12-15 Mejooled Dates (pitted)
1/4 Cup Filtered Water (or Almond Milk)
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
Pinch of Sea Salt
Method: Add all ingredients to a food processor or high speed blender. Mix until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
The Ultimate Brunch Sandwich – 2 Ways
Greek Yogurt + Berries
2 Tbsp Honey
4 Tbsp Organic Greek Yogurt
Handful of Fresh Blueberries
1 Large Strawberry
Method: Lightly spread your honey on your toasted Ozery Bakery Sandwich Buns. Next spead a nice layer of organic greek yogurt to cover the bun. Sprinkle on your blueberries and place strawberries on top. Eat and enjoy!
1 Ripe Avocado
1 Wedge of Lemon
Pinch of Sea Salt
Handful of Raw Pumpkin Seeds
Method: Remove the stone from the center of the avocado and scoop out the meat into a bowl. Juice your lemon wedge into the avocado bowl and add your salt. Mix together with a fork until soft and spreadable. Spread avocado onto lightly toasted Ozery Bakery Sandwich Bun and top with pumpkin seeds.
