Neal’s Yard Remedies Review: Wild Rose Beauty Balm

Woah. Comin’ at ya out of left field here with a beauty post! (finally!).. I’ve been majorly slacking in beauty posts.. mainly because I’ve been keeping up a minimal routine and not many of my products have changed from ones I’ve posted about already. I’m still regularly using my Graydon products, I’ve been cheaping it on the hair care end with my under $20 shampoo and conditioners and just overly low maintenance on the makeup scene. BUT. Here I am. With a fresh new review for ya’ll and I’m excited.

I had the opportunity to meet with the CEO of Neal’s Yard Remedies Canada this past summer (who’s a super sweetie and major #girlboss) and was gifted this insanely awesome beauty balm at the end of our coffee meet. I absolutely love everything about Neal’s Yard and their stand to be completely transparent with ingredients and packaging for all their products. Most of their products come in recycled glass which means less toxins leaching into your product. I love it.

I’m also gonna point out #realquick – I will only post (and have only posted) and share beauty products that I personally use or have tried, ones that I actually love annnnnd of course clean products is my main game here. I’ll be honest and say my beauty lifestyle is not 100% clean, but it’s getting there and for the most part I’m ok with it as is. But you can expect only true, real reviews and features on here for beauty products. Only the best for my best-est readers!

Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm

So. This beauty balm right? I love it. Mainly because it’s a multi-purpose balm so you can use it for cleansing and as a moisturizer. It also works really well as a oil-based primer before you layer on your makeup and foundation for a nice and dewy look. The one reason I absolutely love it is the addition of frankisence. That’s one pricy oil and for good reason – it’s got all kinds of anti-aging, skin healing properties in it. It’s a magical essential oil and it’s generously added to this beauty balm!

How Do I Use It? I’ve been using this beauty balm 3 ways – as a make up remover, a night time moisturizer after cleansing annnd as a primer before applying my makeup.

Ingredients: Rosa canina (Wild rose) seed oil*, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil*, Cera alba (Beeswax)*, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter)*, Cannabis sativa (Hemp) seed oil*, Borago officinalis (Starflower) seed oil*, Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium) flower oil*, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf oil*, Boswellia carterii (Frankincense) oil, Cymbopogon martini (Palmarosa) herb oil*, Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) leaf oil*, Ascorbyl palmitate, Tocopherol, Citral, Citronellol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool.

Neal’s Yard Notes: Our award-winning Wild Rose Beauty Balm  can be used as a rich cleanser, gentle exfoliant or deeply nourishing balm – to quench areas of dry or dehydrated skin. The exceptionally high levels of wild rosehip oil – a potent antioxidant proven to help repair, firm and smooth the skin – are combined with geranium, starflower, hemp and rosemary oil, to help decongest and enrich the skin, restoring its natural radiance. Includes a free organic muslin cloth.

They promise it’s amazing for ALL skin types! While I can’t attest to that, I can say it works well on my skin type which is a bit on the drier side, pale and rose-y toned.

Have you tried any Neal’s Yard products? What are your thoughts? Got another beauty balm you love? Tell me all about!

xx HBL
