We spent a wonderful weekend recently with family celebrating my in-laws 35th Anniversary! I always feel like anniversaries are something worth celebrating, and it’s a great time to get together with family and enjoy everyone’s company. 35 years is no small feat either, that is many, many years of love, children, grandchildren and happy memories!

I took it upon myself to volunteer and make the charcuterie board because I’d been seeing it so often on pinterest and my IG feed that I figured it couldn’t be that hard to put together.. In reality it isn’t but.. it also is! Figuring out where to place everything and make it look esthetically pleasing.. I had no idea. Also.. who actually knows how to say the darn word ‘Charcuterie’ correctly?? If you do, you win a prize! (sorry, I don’t have one). I kept trying to say it but kept correcting myself.. I ended up calling it a fancy cheese board. Waaaaay easier.

So, how do you make one? Well after a few minutes of perusing pinterest I found a few sure tips to make your board look luxurious and beautiful. Take a peek below:

Leave NO Empty Space
The trick to a really luxurious charcuterie board is laying everything close together filling all the space on the board with.. something!

Add Greenery
This isn’t a must, but it adds color and depth to the board, plus greenery says ‘healthy’ and ‘fresh’ so you cant go wrong. We added parsley because it was all we had but you could add anything.. rosemary, herbs, fresh lettuce.

Spread Out the Cheese
Don’t pile all the cheese on one side of the board. For more dimension, place the difference cheeses throughout the board and mix it with the meats, fruits and other ingredients.

Use Different Cheese
This one is also important, a charcuterie board looks best when all the cheese isn’t cut into strips or cubes. You can totally amp up the look by using goat cheese logs, round cheese and brick style cheese.

What are your favourite ingredients to add to a charcuterie board?? xx HBL
