Clean Beauty

I decided to add this section to my blog as I realized healthy eating is only 1 part of the whole health and wellbeing picture. We need to take care of our bodies outside as much as we do inside. Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs up to 80% of what we put on it! Just imagine the unknown chemicals and toxins you’re body could be absorbing in a lifetime. Danielle from the Glamorganic Goddess shares that the average woman slathers, lathers, scrubs, rubs + sprays 515 different synthetic chemicals on her body each day! She also shares importants facts about the lax regulations around beauty products and companies – they don’t even have to list all the ingredients on the label! That means even if you’re careful and read everything there still may be other harmful toxins that you simply do not know about. With all this information, I wanted to start this beauty section simply for myself, as a way to keep all my information in one spot, but of course I love sharing everything I learn and try with you guys so I’ve opened it up to you all and am really excited to get working on this new section of the blog.

It’s so true that what we put on our body is just as important as what we put in it. So many people are unaware or disillusioned by the ingredients found in their skincare and cosmetics, which is disheartening to those in the green beauty community.

And the FDA regulations are inexcusably lax. Their is a lack of government analyzation of these toxic chemicals so often found in mainstream products that can cause birth defects, cancer, serious illnesses, irritation, and so much more. I wish that more people were more aware of the issues that plague conventional beauty!

The more I find out about toxic beauty the more I realize how well it’s hidden and that so few really know what’s in the products they use. It’s been a real eye opener for me and I think it’s an important issue to focus on! thanks for your great comment, I couldn’t agree more with everything you’ve said!
